Looking for an Attitudinal Psyche test? TypeMyVibe has a free quiz you can finish in about six minutes. It explores your attitudes toward Logic, Physics, Expression and Volition, then suggests one of 24 stacks. This page explains what the result means, how to check a close call, and how the free quiz differs from the optional paid report.
Where can you take an attitudinal psyche test right now?
Take TypeMyVibe's free Attitudinal Psyche test: about six minutes, no signup or email required. Your free result includes a likely four-letter stack, the deciding scores, nearby alternatives, and a link to its full type profile. An optional paid AP report expands on your quiz answers; you do not need it to see the result.
This is TypeMyVibe's independent self-report quiz, not the official Attitudinal Psyche questionnaire. It asks about confidence and engagement across four aspects. Scores reflect your answers to these questions, not a diagnosis or a population percentile. For the theory behind the names, see the official AP overview. If you want the full mechanics before taking the quiz, start with the Attitudinal Psyche guide — it walks through all four aspects and all 24 types in depth.
The four aspects and 24 types, briefly
The Attitudinal Psyche framework describes four aspects: your attitude toward Logic (ideas and reasoning), Physics (the material world), Expression (E, formerly called Emotion), and Volition (will and direction). You don't just have an attitude toward each — each occupies a position in the stack. Confidence and engagement distinguish the positions; it is not a ranking of ability or intelligence.
Logic (L)
Your stance toward ideas and reasoning — trusted and settled, or anxiously double-checked against everyone else's opinion.
Physics (F)
Your stance toward the material world: money, comfort, health, food. From completely unbothered to quietly anxious about it.
Expression (E)
Formerly called Emotion. Your stance toward subjective value, feelings, relationships, and meaning — expressed freely, shared carefully, or held back.
Volition (V)
Your stance toward will and direction — natural authority, collaborative leadership, or happy to be a passenger.
Four aspects arranged in four positions gives 24 possible codes, each with a community nickname. A few worth knowing before you guess your own: the confident, quietly-in-charge VLEF (the Contender), the systems-building LVEF (the Theorist), the warmer LVFE (the Conductor), the openly emotional ELVF (the Poet), the expressive EVFL (the Inspirer), and the hands-on FLVE (the Blacksmith). Each type page breaks the stack down position by position, with real-language examples and its most common mix-up.
What an AP quiz can and cannot tell you
Use your result to decide what to read next. A tidy four-letter code does not remove uncertainty. These are the checks worth making before accepting it:
Self-perception is the input
Answer for how you usually behave, with an ordinary recent example in mind. A preferred identity or a difficult day can influence what you choose.
Confidence is not competence
Being settled about Logic does not establish that your reasoning is correct. Being unsure about Physics does not measure your health or practical skill.
Close scores deserve comparison
A narrow confidence or engagement gap can reorder your stack. Read the nearby alternative and note where the descriptions stop fitting.
No norming sample or diagnostic claim
Scores locate your answers on our scales. They do not compare you with a representative population or establish a clinical assessment.
A close comparison is useful information. Read the alternative stack and compare specific situations rather than retaking the quiz until you get a preferred nickname. Your messages can provide examples to reflect on, but a short exchange is not proof of a position. Chat-based typing offers a different perspective on communication; we do not claim it is more accurate than a questionnaire.
How TypeMyVibe scores your Attitudinal Psyche test
The free quiz scores on your device. It uses two scales for each aspect, with six questions per scale: confidence and engagement. Here is how those eight scales become a stack:
Describe your attitudes
Rate each statement on a five-point agree/disagree scale. Confidence and engagement are scored separately for all four aspects.
Compare the pairs
The two higher confidence aspects form positions 1 and 2; lower engagement comes first. The remaining pair forms positions 3 and 4; higher engagement comes third.
Read the result and alternatives
See your free stack, scale scores and nearby possibilities. Follow the linked profile to understand each position. A longer answer-based AP report is optional and paid.
For example, if Logic and Volition form your confident pair, their engagement scores decide between LV and VL at the start of your code. The other pair determines positions three and four. Small gaps can change two letters at once. The result names nearby stacks so you can inspect that uncertainty instead of treating a narrow lead as a settled finding. Scoring happens in your browser. Starting checkout submits your answers to generate the optional AP report. Separately, site analytics can record quiz interactions; see the privacy policy.
What to do with your result
Treat the quiz output as a hypothesis, not a verdict. Compare your 1st and 2nd against how you actually lead and collaborate, and check whether your assumed 3rd is really where your anxiety lives or just where you assumed it would be. The full guide has a position-by-position breakdown of Logic, Physics, Expression (formerly Emotion), and Volition if you want to sanity-check a result against real examples before trusting it.
